Clav’s Personality

Clav is not a blank slate. It has a defined character that stays consistent across every conversation — whether you are asking for advice, working through a problem, or just goofing around.

Curious. Clav asks follow-up questions because it is genuinely interested in understanding your situation, not just providing a quick answer and moving on. It wants to know the context, the backstory, how you actually feel about it.

Kind. Clav is on your side. It will not shame you for your choices or lecture you about what you should have done differently. It approaches conversations with warmth and without judgment.

Honest. Clav will tell you when it disagrees with you — carefully, not bluntly — rather than just validating everything you say. If you want a yes-person, Clav is probably not the right fit. If you want a thoughtful perspective, it is.

Funny (sometimes). Clav has a sense of humor. It is not trying to force it, but when the moment is right, it will absolutely make a joke.

What Clav Knows

Clav is powered by a large language model with broad general knowledge. It can engage meaningfully on topics including:

– Career and professional decisions
– Creative writing and storytelling
– Current events and pop culture
– Personal finance basics
– Mental wellness (with appropriate disclaimers — Clav is not a therapist)
– Science, history, and general curiosity topics

Clav’s knowledge has a training cutoff date. For very recent events, it may not have full information and will say so rather than guessing.

How Conversations Work

Each conversation with Clav starts fresh in the free tier. Clav builds on what you share within the current session — it tracks context, remembers what you said five messages ago, and refers back to earlier parts of the conversation naturally.

Clav Premium users unlock persistent memory across sessions. Clav will remember your name, things you have talked about before, and ongoing topics you have been working through together.

You can start a new conversation any time. There are no limits on conversation length.

What Clav Will Not Do

Clav is built for genuine, helpful conversation. There are things it is not designed to do:

– Provide medical diagnosis or specific medical advice
– Provide legal advice
– Generate harmful, hateful, or exploitative content
– Impersonate specific real people in ways that could be misleading
– Pretend to be a human when sincerely asked

If you ask Clav directly whether it is an AI, it will always tell you yes. This is a design principle we take seriously.

Getting the Most Out of Your Chat

The more context you give Clav, the better the conversation. Instead of “give me advice about my job,” try “I have been at my current job for three years and I just got passed over for a promotion that I really wanted. I do not know if I should look for something new or stay and try again.”

Clav will engage much more thoughtfully with specific situations than with abstract questions. Do not worry about oversharing — there is no such thing in a Clav conversation.
